THE ORGANIZATION:

The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation’s sole purpose is to raise funds to acquire patient care equipment, support education, and upgrade the Hospital’s physical facilities. The Foundation plays a fundamental role in raising funds to support excellence in patient care at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.

The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is a 157-bed facility located in the City of St. Thomas and serving all eight municipalities within the County of Elgin.  It is a fully accredited hospital offering a full range of hospital services and achieved Accredited with Exemplary Standing status from Accreditation Canada.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation is seeking a flexible and adaptable individual with a background in Annual Giving and Direct Marketing, who will report to the Executive Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building a pipeline of support, including building the strategic design, execution, management and measurement of the Annual Giving program, with the goal of increasing gift revenue and donor engagement. You are an innovative, strategic, creative, intellectually curious professional who has a demonstrated track record of driving and inspiring a culture of giving within an Annual Giving program portfolio. You are an important partner working with multiple colleagues to deliver unrestricted support to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.

The incumbent for this role will be responsible for creating and managing a specialized, creative, and integrated annual direct response fundraising program.  The individual in this role will utilize data analysis and segmentation tools to conceive of, and develop a donor development strategy that touches all of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation’s individual Annual Giving donors across all channels and giving types. This will include, but is not limited to, direct response marketing donors, online donors, monthly donors, in tribute/memoriam donors, staff and physician campaign and other engagement program donors in order to develop a pipeline for future higher giving levels. This individual will assess donor groups and channels and lead the development of key performance indicators for the organization’s Annual Giving donor categories. Along with this, the individual will understand how to effectively measure the long-term value of donors and develop plans that maintain St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation’s short- and long-term financial revenue goals. In order to execute these plans, the individual will understand the different metrics available to measure the success of the program and how to best strategize further growth.

The individual will be comfortable conducting analyses to assess the programs’ strengths and areas for improvement. The incumbent is comfortable using CRM’s to analyze and extract data. The position has responsibility for a high level of donor care and stewardship, and for maintaining the integrity of the Raiser's Edge database.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • University degree or College diploma in Philanthropy, Communication and Marketing
  • Certificate as a Fundraising Professional (CFRE) is an asset
  • Passion for driving results.
  • Be a team player who is also self-motivated and works effectively in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and multiple workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, take initiative and respect the confidentiality of sensitive information and materials.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Experience working in healthcare philanthropy or not-for-profit environment is an asset.
  • Creativity, ambition and collaboration.
  • Ability to foster positive relations between the Foundation staff, the Hospital staff, donors and other key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience working with Raiser’s Edge.
