The Department of Decision Sciences in the School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in Risk Management at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2023, subject to final budgetary approval.
Our department is one of the few departments with an academic program in Insurance and Risk Management across Canada. You will oversee this program and teach our existing courses in insurance and risk management and in decision sciences, and help develop additional courses in this area. You are expected to maintain an ongoing program of academic research in risk management or a related field in decision sciences. As a faculty member in the discipline, you are expected to be active in building and fostering relationships with stakeholders in the insurance industry.
You will hold a Ph.D. in risk management, actuarial sciences, applied economics, management science, decision science, or a closely related field. You should demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program in areas related to, but not limited to, risk management, insurance, actuarial science, data science, or management science. Candidates with professional/industry experience in insurance and risk management, especially in the Canadian context, will be highly desirable.
