Caring every day, building stronger families…

BridgeWay Family Centre (BridgeWay) is a non-profit agency providing free prenatal and early learning programs and supports to families and caregivers with children 0 - 6 years of age.  Through provision of the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program, BridgeWay offers services and supports to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women (who participate 3 – 6 months postpartum) that are facing challenging life circumstances. Program goals include improving the health of mothers and infants, reducing the incidence of unhealthy birth weights, and the promotion and support of breastfeeding.

Women are provided with a nutritious snack or dinner, participate in a workshop/educational session facilitated by a Social Worker, Dietitian or Public Health Nurse, and are provided with food vouchers to assist with the purchase of healthy food items highlighted in the program.  The Social Worker, Dietitians and Public Health Nurses are also available to provide support to expectant/new mothers on a one to one basis.
