The team behind Bell Media's Digital Video services is looking for a Software Developer to join our engineering team.

Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

  • Working as an engaged team player within a highly collaborative Dev Ops team.
  • Contribute to the product development of Axis, Bell Media's in-house Video Content Management system.
  • Participate in the team's ceremonies, including daily stand-up, backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews with stakeholders.
  • Supporting our product and project teams by delivering new features and experiences. 
  • Work with colleagues to test and troubleshoot behaviour in pre-release and live applications.

  • Works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
  • Can effectively cope with change, finding ways to advance work and projects
  • Uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems and looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problems and proposes several possible solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical job functions within an organization.
  • Possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
  • Passionate for building the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications and services
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rotation and after-hours support when needed to restore critical services.

 
Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with C# and .NET Development
  • Familiarity with Frontend Development technologies (such as React, Vue.Js)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Containers and Orchestration (such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Cloud Hosting Services (such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) 
  • Bonus points if you have experience with leading, coaching or mentoring junior team members
