Bell Media’s digital content creation team is looking for a multi-platform content creator and strategist who lives and breathes all things digital and social media. Operating in an extremely fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative environment with globally recognized entertainment brands and series, we create digital and social content that is culturally relevant while standing out in the vast landscape of news, entertainment and lifestyle editorial. 

 

As the Managing Editor, Digital and Social Content, you will be responsible for ideation and creation of multi-platform content strategies for the Lifestyle brands of The Marilyn Denis Show, CTV Recipes, and select CTV and Crave series and programs. You will consult and help lead the growth strategy for our accounts, develop content distribution and monetization strategies, create platform specific publishing best practices, standards of excellence, as well as develop robust organic and paid media campaigns supporting both our broadcast content productions and daily digital and social editorial.   

 

Working across internal teams of marketing, production, brand partnerships, sales, content and PR, you will help drive our long-term lifestyle content strategy on existing and emerging platforms, including the development of new series and content products for our audiences and clients. The chosen person in this role will be able to manage significant number of projects at any given time, and have proven understanding what it takes to make good content, but also the best practices in distributing and monetizing it. They will be willing to roll-up their sleeves to get the job done, take risks, monitor performance, and never stop learning and pivoting from their choices.   We are looking for a professional that has equal balance of analytical, creative and strategic social skills, in addition to someone who is fully up-to-date on social media trends, the industry, and holds relationships with creative content communities.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the digital and social editorial calendars for the Marilyn Denis Show social platforms.
  • Lead a team of community managers and freelancers to pitch and produce original multi-platform content that drive engagement as well as traffic to marilyn.ca and CTV.ca.
  • Oversee the CTV recipes digital content and supporting social strategy.
  • Support The Social, Your Morning and additional CTV & Crave branded series with digital content.
  • Pitch partnership and content series servicing our clients and advertisers. 
  • Manage independent contractor content submissions and business partnerships.  
  • Write engaging and effective copy that talks with instead of at our audiences.
  • Moderate, and ensure content is timely, accurate and embodies the voice and tone of our brands.
  • Keep on top of industry news, trends and digital and social innovations.
  • Producer and package digital assets, with a focus on Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest.
  • Assist in the development of social templates and creative.
  • Lead creative brainstorms, and develop cross platform content plans & calendars.
  • Edit and publish relevant web content as needed.
  • Monitor metrics to ensure KPIs are being met, and make data-driven content decisions and recommendations to our broadcast partners.
  • Other duties assigned by Executive Producer.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a social media producer/editor with proven experience in digital storytelling and audience growth.
  • Passionate and proven content production experience in Lifestyle and food culture, and are always up-to-date with the latest news, trends and discussions.
  • Expert knowledge of all social media platforms.
  • Socially conscious, inclusive, and passionate about sharing and amplifying diverse, meaningful stories.
  • Proven experience leveraging social media analytic platforms to inform strategy.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills with experience dealing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Holds high content standards and attention to detail.
  • Positive, proactive and collaborative team player.
  • Demo reel or portfolio showcasing your social content production experience.

 

Additional experience considered an asset:

  • Photography/videography skills.
  • Social measurement experience including use of listening, monitoring and CRM services/tools with a solid understanding of KPIs and industry benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of CMS platforms.
  • Cloud-based workplace collaboration tools and platforms, such as Monday.com.
  • Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut or related editing and creative platforms.
  • Certifications for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Analytics.
  • Established contact list of independent writers and multi-platform content creators and contributors

 

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
