Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Network & Technology Services, Bell Media,  the Director, Network & Technology Services/ Content will be tasked with technical operations  supporting content creation at the Toronto and Montreal Television facilities, while working in harmony with other Bell Media facilities and Bell Divisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the people, process and technology transformation needed to push forward and operate a world class 24/7 media facility in the areas of:
    • Live Control Room and Studio Production for News, Sports and Lifestyle/Entertainment,
    • Video Editing and Post Sound Production facilities
    • Closed Captioning & Descriptive Video creation
  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate a diverse team of managers and technicians and assign delivery of associated activities
  • Oversee project planning and implementation from an engineering & operational  support perspective
  • Develop, relay and execute long-term strategies related to business planning, staffing, customer service, process improvement, capital and operational budgets.
  • Capital Maintenance project conception, budgeting and implementation.
  • Influence organizational strategies, internal partners, and cross-functional relationships that will optimize solutions and ensure the delivery of a reliable and positive viewer experience.
  • Build strong relationships with production departments and other Bell Media facilities to ensure the consistent implementation of technology and practices  for exceptional on-air content that is delivered to the customer
  • Develop and oversee operational support budgets and monitor capital and operational expenditure.
  • Tasked with maintaining and establishing working relationships with different union entities, to support the needs of the company

 

 Key Qualifications/ Competencies:

  • Minimum 8 years Television Operations experience with 5 or more years of people management.
  • Post-secondary education in Broadcasting / Television Production or related discipline
  • Current with new and emerging Television and associated technologies.
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Senior Management level communication skills
  • Monitor, anticipate and share relevant future technology trends and impacts.
  • Capacity to problem solve and confidence to make quick, qualified and complex decisions
  • Drive team effectiveness and ability to develop collaborative partnerships.
  • Reflect a high degree of professional initiative and ability to operate effectively within a team and independently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment under pressure
  • Exceptional ability to persuade and negotiate with influence to drive change and support the business goals.
  • Adapt at using Agile practices in an operations environment.

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
