Responsibilities:    

•    Responsible for originating, writing, interviewing, and reporting national television news stories for all CTV news platforms.
•    Cover Canadian politics and other stories of national and international interest, as assigned by the Domestic Assignment Editor, Senior Producers, Executive Producer or their delegates
•    Develop and maintain news contacts and confidential sources
•    Plan news shoots and work with ENG crews in studio and the field
•    Exercising strong news judgement and a keen instinct to dig for stories
•    Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

•    Journalism degree or equivalent
•    Solid understanding of Canadian media law and how it applies to reporting
•    Extensive knowledge of Canadian political life at both National and Provincial levels
•    Extensive knowledge of Ontario regional issues
•    Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
•    Excellent communications and writing skills
•    Must possess superb research and on air presentation skills
•    Ability to travel on extremely short notice
•    Strong team player
•    Excellent knowledge of general current events
•    Excellent knowledge of multi-platform television production techniques
•    Bilingual (French) an asset

 

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
