Job Summary

The primary objective of the position is to maintain all aspects within the centre pertaining to the repair of consumer, business and cellular electronic products. This involves the evaluation, diagnosis, replacement of parts and/or repair of consumer electronic goods against established criteria in the repair cycle. Objectives also include the ability to procure parts for customers and stores.

 

Respoinsiblities

- Diagnose/evaluate incoming repairs within 2 business days; determine if product is covered under warranty and where applicable, arrange for product to be returned to vendor.  For out of warranty items, ensure that estimate is made and communicated to support staff.

- Review manufacturer schematics to determine faults and required parts to be ordered to complete repair; initiate parts request inquiries through the National Parts department.  Based on cost of replacement parts, determine if it makes good business sense to continue forward with the repair of product.

- Update repair tag maintenance system with all process updates at each step of the repair cycle.

- Install replacement parts to complete repair and conduct applicable product testing to determine functionality.

- Pack product and provide to shipping department to be sent back to the store/customer.

- Maintain test equipment and tools in proper working condition.

- Analyse daily, all parts inquiries and follow up with stores on the availability of parts requests.

- Follow published policies related to health and safety rules specific to the workplace as provided by senior management. Promote health and safety within the workplace.  Report any potential problems or unsafe situations to supervisors and/or senior management.

 

Skills

-Post-secondary diploma in electronics technology and proven technical proficiency from bench testing experience with consumer electronics products.

- Strong organizational and time management skills are required.  The ability to track and handle multiple repairs and request is essential.

- Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
