The Manager, Business Intelligence is a key role that will contribute to the evolution of Belair's BI practice at the strategic, tactical and operational layers. We are searching for a strong leader with BI expertise. The incumbent will be equipped with a solid BI background on the data engineering and analytical fronts. This experience will be leveraged to assist the team in achieving its future roadmap. The BI Manager will inspire and motivate the team while driving projects/tasks to fruition by setting priorities on workload in alignment with business and executive needs.


  • Lead an agile team of professional BI developers and analysts to be their best.
  • Manage daily operations in an efficient and structured fashion.
  • Be proactive in driving change for the betterment of the practice.
  • Manage BI projects and deliverables from initiation to closure to satisfy business requirements.
  • Support the team with their personal development needs.
  • Provide listening, coaching and support to meet team member needs.

BI Mandate

  • Converge with key stakeholders to collect requirements and set delivery expectations for analytical, data, and reporting needs.
  • Manage daily operational workload by running scrum and workload prioritization meetings to ensure business needs are being fulfilled.
  • Communicate in a timely fashion and be proactive in following up with key partners around deliverable expectations.
  • Lead the development of Belair's next generation data infrastructure.
  • Lead data exploration initiatives that will unearth new data to provide new insight.
  • Enhance the tools, processes, standards, and practices of our data development and report/dashboard buildings efforts.
  • Ensure reporting platforms are optimized for dashboard, report, and self-serve capabilities.
  • Oversee that the infrastructure is technically optimized for data, report, and analysis delivery.
  • In charge of the daily operations to resolve BI issues (i.e. system performance, report and dashboard availability, data accuracy and quality)
  • Generation of analysis/reports and presenting findings to end users.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with partners for cross-team collaboration.
Your Skills
  • A Bachelor or a Master's degree in IT, Business Administration, Mathematics/Actuarial, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading small to medium BI teams.
  • Previous relevant experience in the architecture and/or design of data schemas. Good understanding of data development techniques for optimized data marts.
  • Background in reporting platforms and in the design of effective dashboards and reports.
  • Solid understanding of the BI system development lifecycle (Agile).
  • Strong project management skills with proven experience in managing end to end complex BI projects
  • Experience with the SQL language.
  • Nice to have hands-on technical skills: SAS, Oracle, Informatica, SAP BO, Power BI.
  • Proficient in presenting to all levels of organization (Frontline to executives).
  • Distill complex and ambiguous data into digestible facts.
  • Analytical problem solver and excellent communication skills.
  • Drive change and challenge the status quo for continual improvement.
  • Bilingual (French and English)
