Electrical Co-Op Student/Intern

AECOM's Markham office is currently seeking a Telecommunication Engineer to join our growing Buildings and Places team. The Buildings and Places Team is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers Engineering, architectural and project management services as well as planning and economic analysis for vertical construction projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, water / waste water and transit facilities.
Co-op student opening for 4 months.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Research and apply building code, regulatory and industry code requirements
Prepare electrical design calculations, utilize electrical design software
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or other related field required.
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position
- A University of Waterloo student with one to two years of academic schooling remaining before earning a degree preferred
