TalentEgg announces recipients of 2013 National Campus Recruitment Excellence Awards

Canadian employers recognized for outstanding achievements in attracting and recruiting post-secondary students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORONTO, ON, May 15, 2013 – Seven Canadian employers were presented with TalentEgg National Campus Recruitment Excellence Awards for their achievements in attracting and recruiting post-secondary students and recent graduates over the last year at the second annual TalentEgg National Campus Recruitment Excellence Awards and Conference in Toronto on May 14, 2013.

“Competition for top student and new graduate talent in Canada is fierce, and over the last year we’ve noticed that many employers are stepping up their game – especially online,” said Lauren Friese, founder of TalentEgg Inc.

“In 2013, it’s not good enough to just post your jobs and have students apply. A really robust campus recruitment program should include everything from a campus career website, to digital and social media campaigns on platforms such as TalentEgg, Facebook and Twitter, as well as on-campus visits and events, and even an internship program.”

Employers submitted applications for the awards in January and February, and the winning campaigns were chosen by a panel of more than 200 students and recent graduates from across Canada, selected from thousands of applicants, during a two-week judging period in March.

The judges ranked the employers and also provided qualitative feedback on their activities, which will be compiled and published in a series of posts detailing best practices on TalentEgg360.com – a resource hub and online community for campus recruitment professionals – in the coming weeks and months.

“Overall, the winning employers fell into two categories: either they demonstrated that they have a well-rounded campus recruitment strategy encompassing a variety of both on-campus and online elements, such as PwC, Grant Thornton and TD Business Banking,” Lauren said, “or they did something really innovative and unique, such as MasterCard Canada’s social interview campaign by MacLaren McCann and Just-Eat’s internship program.”

Ms. Friese shared the judges’ feedback and best practices with approximately 200 campus recruiters, human resources professionals and career services staff during an awards ceremony at the end of the conference, held at the Arcadian Loft in downtown Toronto.
