We are a little under 2 weeks away from one of our most exciting event of the summer! On Tuesday, June 2, at our Downtown Toronto Campus, a marketing sample class entitled“Creating a Sharing Market: From App to Social Movement” will be presented by our very own and one of the world’s most renowned business school professors – Dr. Markus Giesler. I assure you, this will be memorable!

Markus a distinguished professor at Schulich, who has done research on the dynamics and design of (technology-based) consumer experiences and been published in top-tier academic journals and profiled in the New York Times, Time, Financial Times, and Fast Company. He’s been recognized by Fortune and Wired, and was named Poets & Quants Top 40 under 40 business school professors. His MBA course called Customer Experience Design is a favourite at Schulich. His students will tell you that Markus is a funny, engaging, and passionate educator.

Markus recently spoke at TedxYorkU 2015 in March. Markus told a story about how his failed attempts to feed birds in a park led him to discover how making simple changes to the environment can affect those who coexist in that park. A fascinating glimpse into his research, he went on to discuss innovations like Botox and Uber, challenging individuals to focus on and understand the environment when trying to make innovations go viral.Watch his talk, and don’t forget to browse his blog.
