Meet William.

William is one of our Logistics Payable Supervisors. He's responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Logistics Payable department, providing support to all Associates and supervising performance. He also monitors workflow, consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency of the department.

Everyone knows that data is critical to business operations. But nobody takes this more seriously than William. He believes data is the wellspring from which strategic decisions are made. With him at the helm, they do tend to flow.

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Logistics Payable Supervisors, we'd ask you to do the following:

  • Prioritize and reallocate individual workloads to ensure overall department resources are fully utilized and departmental goals are met.
  • Provide direction and support on the department's day-to-day activities and escalate complex issues to the Manager.
  • Assist in coaching and developing Associates.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to deliver performance reviews to direct reports.
  • Identify opportunities for training and growth for Associates.
  • Prepare monthly inventory for In-Transit Report, obtain approval, and distribute to meet month-end timelines.
  • Provide access and security administration for all logistics tools and service providers websites.
  • Liaise with various internal departments and external sources, ensuring resolution of vendor-related issues.
  • Provide education, training, and support of the Landed Factor System to the Merchandising community and new Associates.
  • Review and maintain the accuracy of data flowing into the Landed Factor system to ensure Landed Factor information provided to merchants are accurate; this information is critical to the merchants when negotiating cost of import purchases which have direct impact to the Company's bottom line.
  • Provide Landed Factor information to merchants for newly sourced products originating from new countries, where historical data is not available in the system.
  • Understand complex business workflows that integrate with various areas and understand upstream and downstream impacts of issues.
  • Monitor invoice/system exceptions and history and ensure outstanding items are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor departmental statistics to ensure they are meeting department standards.
  • Compile department metrics for budgeting and analysis.
  • Participate in special projects, system design, and testing when applicable.
  • Ensure that Associates follow correct processing procedures and controls and adhere to Company policies and procedures.

  • You have a post-secondary education in Business related to Accounting or Supply Chain.
  • You are working toward CPA designation.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in accounting/finance roles, including analysis.
  • You have strong data mining and excellent analytical skills.
  • You have strong knowledge of Accounting processes, principles, and controls; you have excellent knowledge of Logistics including knowledge of shipping procedures (i.e. international and domestic); knowledge of Canada's importing regulations is an asset.
  • You have strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • You have intermediate problem-solving skills, including responding to Associates, suppliers, and vendors; you can resolve problems related to vendor accounts, analyze information (ie. Client and system requirements), and provide staff with solutions.
  • You have advanced computer skills including MS Office (MS Excel), accounting software (i.e. Lawson), AP Workflow Queries, etc.
  • You have excellent supervisory and issue management skills plus the following: interpersonal, conflict management, information gathering, team building, and customer service, including effectively responding to Associate inquiries.
  • You understand complex business workflows that integrate with various areas and understand upstream and downstream impacts of issues.
  • You have knowledge of Supply Chain processes as well as DC, Logistics, Merchandising, and Financial Control.
  • You have good project support skills including maintaining detailed development plans and managing within one or more systems.
  • You have intermediate organizational and administrative skills.
