The Sun Life Information Technology Rotational Program, under the Rotational Leadership Development Program (RLDP) umbrella, provides a unique opportunity to gain specialized experience in an accelerated development manner. Through three eight-month rotations within one of the four practice areas, you will gain critical technical and business skills, use the latest technology and practices in growing fields, gain knowledge of the financial services industry and a broad understanding of Sun Life's products, clients and business strategy. The four practice areas of the IT Rotational Program are Data & Business Intelligence, Digital Technology, Information Security, and Governance, Risk & Compliance.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Governance, risk management and compliance are gaining increasing importance across all organizations and industries. Specializing in this area will introduce you to three functions that are critical in large, global organizations;
Within Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management, you will work collaboratively to assess risks, define key risk indicators and review and track mitigating actions while applying influence to mature a set of controls. Learn about and apply security, fraud and privacy policies to our global IT organization. Assist senior leaders with running live business continuity and disaster recovery exercises. Engage in monitoring crises around the globe and mitigating how they may impact our business.
In Service Management Excellence we create a consolidated view of the global IT function, tracking, reporting and demonstrating our services to senior management. We provide guidance to others on establishing services levels, managing capacity and addressing the thousands of requests coming to IT from the global employee base. We use the latest hot tools such as ServiceNow and Navvia and are adopting lean principles and practices, a skill that will help any IT professional excel in their career.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Project Management Office drives substantial program and project management and manages large, complex initiatives that result in significant business benefit and/or technology renewal. You will be charged with tracking the overall delivery and reporting of multiple projects, coordinating across multiple stakeholders and managing outcomes within time, cost and quality parameters. You will learn to identify and mitigate program level risks and negotiate resource usage and program scope effectively while developing your ability to negotiate, influence and drive for action.
The accelerated nature of this program provides individuals with early leadership opportunities and interaction with the IT Executive Team and other senior leaders in the company. Upon completion of the two-year program, we expect your next role in the organization to be in your area of specialization, however, this will depend on your career aspirations, the needs of the organization and your standing over the duration of the program.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science or business undergraduate program
