Position Overview

New and recent graduates in engineering have the opportunity to join Nexen as part of the Technical Canada New Grad Program. This three year development program allows Engineering New Grads to experience several areas of our operations through rotational assignments moving across disciplines with a variety of development assignments. Combined with targeted training, technical and career mentoring, you will have the tools you need to build a successful long-term career at Nexen.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

As an Engineering New Graduate, you will be placed into one of Nexen’s teams in our Canadian Oil & Gas, Operation Services, or Global Exploration Divisions based in Calgary.

You will complete three, one year rotational assignments in a variety of engineering disciplines which would include reservoir, production, drilling and completions, or facilities engineering.

To gain an in-depth understanding of our operations, we encourage one of your rotational assignments be a field location, although not guaranteed.

You will accelerate your development, increase your technical skills and make meaningful contributions from the day you start at Nexen. Reporting to a senior technical professional, you will gain valuable experience by working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary business team.

Education & Experience

Students graduating prior to September 2017 and recent graduates (within the last 2 years) with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Oil & Gas Engineering.
