Succeeding in Training

Training to become an air traffic controller or flight service specialist is very challenging. But if you’ve made it to training, it’s because we know you have what it takes to succeed.

Our training programs give you all the tools necessary – from experienced trainers, to reading materials and manuals, to iPad and desktop simulators, to high-fidelity simulators that accurately recreate an operational environment.

It’s a full-time endeavour. You’ll train five days a week, full-time in our programs. In addition to the regular classroom time, you’ll be expected to study, prepare and spend time in simulators outside of classroom hours in the evenings and on weekends. All in, you’re looking at anywhere from 8 to 12 hours of training and study time every day.

NAV CANADA wants you to succeed and will make a significant investment in your development. In return, we want you to bring your best effort in training to get the results that earn you a spot in our team.
