Québec City Office - CPA Opportunities in Audit, Tax & Advisory
Please note that you are limited to one application during the fall recruitment period (job and office).
Overview of the opportunity:
Working at KPMG allows you to gain valuable on-the-job experience while building your professional network and business acumen. Being part of the KPMG Global member firm of 155 countries and 174,000 professionals, you'll be part of a high performing team and have access to ongoing professional development and mentorship at every level. You will work with national and global organizations, adding value and gaining valuable on-the-job experience. At KPMG, we'll provide you with the support to drive your own career and discover the countless opportunities available.
Our Québec City office is seeking undergraduate business students who are looking to pursue their CPA designation to join the team in 2017/2018 as a part of our Avenues program.
What you will do:
Our Avenues program allows you to gain different work experiences across our Audit, Tax and Advisory practice as you begin your career as a new graduate. Avenues is designed to be a three year program; in your first two years you'll gain broad experience across industries and our practice areas. In your third year, you'll become more specialized in a specific function and industry depending on personal and business interests. As you work shoulder to shoulder with your clients, you will build relationships that will highlight the value you bring to them through the use of your advanced business acumen and ability to provide deeper industry insights. Throughout the program, you will have a dedicated Development Manager to coach and mentor you to ensure that you receive broad experiences that are aligned with your interests. The result is a more individualized career path. Client visits are an important part of most roles, so you'll be moving from environment to environment to experience a broad range of different industries, locations, and businesses. This variation in the role means there is no set pattern for the types of work you will be doing on a day-to-day basis.
What you bring to the role:
You are a well-rounded undergraduate university student that demonstrates balance and leadership between academics, extra-curricular and community involvement. You are a leader on your university campus and in your community and exhibit strong communication skills, professionalism and a desire to learn and grow.
You have a strong academic record and are committed to achieving your CPA designation. You have a proven track record of successfully dealing with competing priorities and deadlines under pressure. You have a strong sense of personal accountability, and are focused on achieving your personal and career goals.
Keys to your success:
- Strong relationship-building skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and the wider community.
- Being driven to continuously learn from experiences and seek out feedback and development opportunities.
- Ability to provide crucial consultation and analysis for the variety of clients you will serve.
