*This Student Position resides in Ottawa, Ontario and is a 4 (co-op) month work term commencing September, 2017.

It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

The following job responsibilities for Software Developer include:

Are you a highly motivated developer with automation and development skills to help us grow our Cognos Analytics (CA) and Watson Analytics (WA) development pipeline to the Cloud? We have the tools, environments, and developers to make it happen and you could be part of it.

In IBM Business Analytics (CA & WA) development, we have a stable of products to report, analyze, visualize and present data. We enable business users to work with their business questions, self-served through our products, to come out with the insights and personalization they need. Our team develops, builds, tests, and packages the products for deployment either on-premises (CA) or into the cloud (CA & WA).

We work with a lot of development teams in CA and WA, with a lot of development environments and tools, and deploy into multiple clouds. We are looking for your fresh perspective, creativity, and enthusiasm in designing and developing the systems we need. Learning new technologies and concepts rapidly and passion for software innovation is a must.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Experience with Windows and Linux in Cloud environments
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills
  • Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Knowledge of IBM products related to Cognos Analytics and Watson Analytics
  • Knowledge of software development and tools
  • Experience with multiple programming languages
  • Understanding of software engineering and DevOps

Eligibility Requirements:
