Business Analytics Software Developer

Ottawa, Ontario
Entry Level, Early Career
Job Description

Businesses are generating enormous amounts of data. Analytics are the brains that turn all that raw data into actionable information. Our Watson Analytics product offers smart, self-service capabilities so clients can identify and act on this information. We pride ourselves in using emerging technologies to provide beautiful interactive visualizations, as well as cognitive and contextual computing to empower our business users.

The Watson Analytics teams include lots of opportunities for developers in the Client User Interface development teams and Back-End development teams.

You can find our developers, designers and product managers working away at various locations worldwide. Our team is organized into sub-teams who own different parts of the product and work like mini "startups." Together, they make the magic happen; continuously shipping awesome features to our clients.

Our agile space and tools allow us to collaborate and explore ideas easily. Teams use whiteboard walls, dedicated team working rooms and our state-of-the-art design studio to get things done. However, our secret to success really lies in our awesome people and culture. We enjoy building a quality product, crafting an amazing user experience, and having lots of fun in the process.

You will be part of the Watson Analytics development team which provides a key component of agile thinking to drive customer success, delivers holistic product experiences, and tackles new and exciting challenges related to data analysis and visualizations. This isn't about creating old-fashioned pie charts; it's about visually understanding data in ways that have never been seen before. We're looking for enthusiastic full stack developers to help us transform the way enterprise software is presented to our users in IBM Watson Analytics.

You should have a passion for high-quality execution and an almost obsessive attention to detail. Brainstorm and collaborate with some of IBM's brightest minds comprised of developers, offering managers and designers to create brilliant features.

  • Design and maintain new features.
  • Demonstrate a clear pride of ownership.
  • Collaborate with others.
  • Actively participate in the Agile development process.
  • Propose new ideas.
  • Be relentless on quality.
  • Maintain a fun, inclusive and creative work environment.

Teams are based at strategic IBM Lab locations and presence on site is required 100% of the time.
