Job Description

Client expansion and acquiring new clients is core to our strategy in IBM Canada. There is over $12B of opportunity in Canada that sits in our Commercial business segment yet we only have 1% market share. Clients of all sizes sit in Commercial, many who have done business with IBM in the past. Others have not done business yet spend with many of our competitors. IBM is positioned to go win in this space and sell offerings like analytics, cloud, security, systems and services.

We are seeking a Commercial Client Sales representative focused on the development of new client relationships and opportunities in Quebec across IBM's portfolio. You will work closely with local business partners to develop opportunities in Systems (Power and Storage) as well as key Software and Solution areas like Security and Analytics. Cloud is strategic to IBM's growth as well as developing services opportunities. Many clients sitting in Commercial are transforming their business and we have the capabilities to help them achieve their business objectives.

Reaching new clients through key marketing activities and developing a social media presence is core to this role. Clients do a significant amount of their own research before they talk to a vendor so reaching clients in new ways as we continue to develop our digital platform and IBM Marketplace will be key.

In this position the Commercial Client leader will understand the opportunity in the local market, key growth industries and target new clients. They will be responsible for generating leads through key plays and initiatives, working closely with business partners, marketing, sales specialists and other influencers.

The successful candidate will be a self motivator with the ability to work in a ever changing, high volume environment. This full-time position is on a sales plan and will be located in Montreal, QC

Key Responsibilities:

  • * Meet and exceed sales revenue targets
  • * Develop a territory plan that will focus on key growth industries and solutions that resonate with the local market opportunities
  • * Develop strong relationships with executives and influencers in the IT and Line of Business organizations in key accounts
  • * Ensure high client satisfaction
  • * Drive new opportunity identification by leveraging sales plays and prospecting activities
  • * Demonstrate sales leadership and territory management including weekly cadence reviews with your Manager
  • * Team and collaborate with other teams within IBM (Business Units, Client teams, Marketing, etc..)
  • * Work with IBM Business Partners to broaden reach into the marketplace
  • * Leverage digital and social tools to reach new clients and contacts

Key Qualifications:

  • * Previous sales experience and proven track record of sales success
  • * Prospecting skills in penetrating enterprise and mid-market territories
  • * Experience working with Business Partners
  • * Motivated self starter with strong communications and teaming skills
  • * Proven problem solving skills
  • * Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced environment
