The successful incumbent will support HR functions, specifically the Head of Diversity & Inclusion in a variety of related tasks, as assigned. This role is designed for an individual who is looking to explore a career in Human Resources and/or Diversity & Inclusion specifically.

The role is primarily aimed at supporting various Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, administrative, event, and project support for HSBC's various Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Within the role, candidates may do the following:

  • Complete a broad range of processing, administrative, operational, customer service and accounting-related specialized duties in support of Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
  • Exercise budgetary oversight for Diversity & Inclusion events and activities, reconciling and balancing spend, verifying accuracy, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain appropriate records of Employee Resource Group activity, assisting with promotional and logistical duties.
  • Assist with monthly Diversity & Inclusion Council meetings, and their related tasks.
  • Research industry best practices and make recommendations to the Head of Diversity & Inclusion for project consideration and subsequent implementation.
  • Work with communications team, where applicable, to highlight HSBC's brand and community involvement.
  • Create quantitative and qualitative related reports as needed.
  • Coordinate calendars for multiple Employee Resource Groups, and other applicable parties.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation is required, and a degree in business or a related field would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the Employment Equity Act (1995) would be an asset.
  • Proven organizational, planning, analytical, problem-solving, customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and office equipment.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Passion for diversity, equity and inclusion.
