As an Accountant your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing solutions to our clients on current business and financial conditions
  • Planning, preparation and execution of financial statements with appropriate note disclosures
  • Planning, preparation of working paper files and execution of financial statements for review engagements and compilations
  • Preparation and filing of T1's, T2's, T4's & T5's
  • Preparation of monthly and annual bookkeeping
  • Working closely with clients and providing exceptional client service
  • Working with clients in target industry sectors under varying reporting frameworks, providing exceptional client service

The skills and attributes required for this position include:

  • 1-2 years' experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping with small to mid-sized owner managed businesses
  • Experience with income tax preparation is considered an asset
  • Accounting degree or diploma preferred or equivalent experience
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Experience with Caseware, Taxprep and Quickbooks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven problem solver with solid analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to grasp new technology tools
  • Strong technical experience in accounting and tax
