Reporting to the OLRT Quality Manager, the Student Quality Inspector will be responsible for providing support to the quality team by testing, inspecting, and enforcing safety and quality protocols.

This is a term position - four (4) months starting May 1 - September 1, 2017- located in Ottawa, Ontario.

In the position of  Student Contract Administrator we would ask you to do the following:

  • Inspecting all work performed in accordance with the construction contract;
  • Inspecting incoming products;
  • Testing in general may be required (training will be provided);
  • Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings;
  • Ensuring safety and quality protocols are being followed;
  • Providing feedback to management on the quality issues & findings as needed.
  • Preparing daily reports of inspections and issues identified;
  • Other project related duties as assigned.

Required skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Currently enrolled in an Architectural, Construction or Civil Engineering program either at the University level or college;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs if required;
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required;
  • A valid driver's license is an asset;
  • Must be able to find transportation to work.
