What you will do 
We are looking for a co-op student that will be involved with an Equity Research Big Data initiative. This role is responsible for data analysis and driving the implementation of Data as a Service (DaaS) and Automated Ingestion Development as part of Big Data initiative. This role requires the candidate to be both technical and business facing as it interfaces with business teams in projects and represents the department in requirements and design discussions. 


Who you are 

• An Engineering, Computer Science, IT Management major or from a related discipline 
• Hadoop Map/Reduce, Hive experience and Hadoop java programming experience 
• Experience with real-time and batch data ingestion frameworks. 
• Experience with API development and use of JSON/XML/Hypermedia data formats 
• Data management or data modeling experience within Big Data (Hbase/Hive/Mongo DB) 
• Core Java or Python Programming experience 
• Hands on Experience with open source software platforms Linux 
• MS SQL/MYSQL database application development experience 
• .NET Framework development experience a plus 
• Agile development processes experiences a plus
